What you see here is a unique Clock design with many faces. The first design of this Clock was already created in 1986 by René Lutke Schipholt (Artistic design), and Rien Vos (Electronics design), both working for KPN (Netherlands Original Telecom Company). Rien was an Electronics Designer, and René was the Electronics Draftsman there. The design was Patented at that time to avoid copying.
The idea for the external look came from René, The Electronics was designed by Rien.
The goal was ‘not’ to sell millions of pieces, but for a select group of enthusiastic people (and dedicated Stores), who were interested, we build them on demand. We even established a Company (LuVo Electronics) for this project. Unfortunately, the clock was too expensive (due to the used materials) to sell larger numbers, so after a while we ended our project, but we never forgot what we did, and we were very proud on our creation.
Now it is 2024 (38th Anniversary) and René as well as Rien are both retired. René is still living in the Netherlands, and Rien lives already for 14 years in the Philippines. Very deep in our hearts it was our both wish to remake this Clock with the opportunities of today for a reasonable price. Basically, the look must be the same, but we want to introduce more flexible options and colors. (The original Clock was equipped with Fixed Red and Green LED’s and available in 2 different styles.
So, I decided to make a restart with my hobby (Electronics Design) which I already stopped long time ago. Fortunately, I meet a Dutch friend here with the same background (with recent experience), and he inspired me to pick up my knowledge, and go ahead with my hobby ever started in my teen ages.
I started my project halfway 2020, and after 4 Years of work you see the result here. For René there was nothing more to do than watch over my shoulder and support my enthusiasm. I think we succeeded in our goal, and it will be affordable for larger group of buyers now, but it is still an exclusive (expensive) product.
This product is for 100% made in the Philippines and designed to show his different faces to you for many years. The enclosure is made of High-quality Acrylic, and it will last for ever.
We offer 2 Years of no-nonsense warranty on this product, because we think a Top design like
this deserves a Top warranty. Only the Acrylic enclosure is not included in the warranty as well
as the aluminum Backplane. It’s a strong construction, so under normal Circumstances noting
will happen with it. However, the complete Electronic Unit is fully warrantied (excluding the
battery)
